Topic of the Month – May 2019

Posted on: April 30, 2019

This month’s topic is Ideas. Absolutely everything depends on Ideas – let’s all try and have good ones.

Every month this website will feature twenty or so Horacek cartoons on a chosen topic. I choose them alphabetically. All cartoons are ©Judy Horacek. I’d rather you didn’t use these cartoons without my permission, but if you must, I’d appreciate it if you acknowledge my authorship and the source.  They are cartoons, not memes! Cartoons this month were first published in The Age, The Australian, The Canberra Times and for a publication for The Australian National University.

Next month’s topic will start with J.

I copied a link to your cartoon ‘building site fantasy’ to an aquaintance who was dismayed to have been honked in the street and worried about her daughter going through the same experience one day. Love your work 🙂

Hi Hilary, Hope your friend enjoyed the cartoon. I don’t think the cartoon is going to come true anytime soon, but it’s nice to think about it.

Definitely thinking inside the box. So comfortable, so non-confronting, so safe, so secure, so non-adventurous…..and comprehensively in ‘the zone’. I think this might be me.

Does my Brain look good in this needs to be a grad card! You are so brilliant. My favorite cartoonist/artist. Thanks for the lift, needed it today.

A great mix of poetry and politics with a dash of nature thrown in – Miss Muffet.

Love the Giraffe Ceiling Fan. Made me laugh out loud! And reminded me of waking up to my cat peering at me from about 2cm away.
