Topic of the month – August 2016

Posted on: August 1, 2016

This month’s topic is ‘Games’, of all kinds.  Probably lots of metaphors for life here, but that’s up to you to decide.

Next month’s TOTM will be ‘Hybrids’.

Every month this website will feature ten to twenty Horacek cartoons on a chosen topic. I chose them alphabetically – next month’s topic will be something starting with H.  All cartoons are ©Judy Horacek. I’d rather you didn’t use these cartoons without my permission, but if you must, I’d appreciate it if you acknowledge my authorship and the source.  They are cartoons, not memes.  Cartoons this month were first published in The Age, The Canberra Times, The Australian Magazine, Australia Left Review and in some one-off commissions.

One of those mornings – hot water system goes kaput, parent reports thief & I am never sure if thief is ‘thief of the mind’ ala Macbeth’s dagger or a flesh-and-blood one. Have to re-schedule catch-ups to deal with hot water fixer-uppers, not enough appointments next day as a freelancer … THEN THIS ARRIVES and I have a number of LOL moments.

    T h a n k s. Feel free to use my day as a cartoon. .

And two friends just sent me your card with the apostrophe on it, and superman demanding that the writer give up his chalk.
This is just what we ALL need!
    And SO clever.

Haha! You should have been stood where I was stood, Foenix. The one dry spot in West Wales!

Beautiful, thought provoking cartoons as always, Judy.
