Sydney Writers Festival 2015 – Children’s Festival of Moving Stories

Join Mem Fox and Judy Horacek, the dynamic duo who created Where is the Green Sheep?, to celebrate their new book This and That, their third picture book collaboration.
As part of Sydney Writers’ Festival’s 2015 Children’s Festival of Moving Stories, Mem and Judy will take you behind the scenes of the new book and share stories about their work. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions about the books and how to get kids reading, followed by a signing and a meet and greet.

The Chinese New Year is coming up, and 2015 is a Year of the Sheep. Not only that, it’s apparently a Green Sheep! So to celebrate, the wonderful Ann and Ann of Books Illustrated are featuring ‘Where is the Green Sheep?’ on their book stall at the Federation Square Book Market on February 14 (yes, it’s also Valentine’s Day). I’ll do some drawing and that will be projected onto the big screen, or you can just stand close to my table and watch my actual hand. There will be lots of books for sale – the Green Sheep of course, and my other books too, like Yellow is My Colour Star, my cartoon collections and some of my prints. The Book Market is on from 10 till 5 and I’ll be there from 2 pm to 3.30 pm – come by and say hello!

The Inaugural ELECTRIC WALL EXHIBITION

In conjunction with the launch of The Night before Mother’s Day, a selection of Judy’s past printmaking work will be exhibited as the first Electric Wall exhibition at the Electric Shadows Bookshop, 40 Mort Street Braddon. The Electric Wall is an exciting new development, the combined initiative of curator Helen Maxwell and the Electric Shadows Bookshop, and will feature regular exhibitions of contemporary work. (Judy’s work appears by arrangement with her ACT gallery, Beaver Galleries)
